Canning Line Shift Supervisor

This position’s primary responsibilities will be the management of daily canning shifts overseeing their safe and efficient execution and completion. The Canning Line Shift Supervisor position is full-time and will report directly to the Packaging Manager. Additionally, the Canning Line Shift Supervisor position will work closely with the Director of Brewery Operations, all department heads and the quality assurance department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
• Work canning shifts each day

• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and correctly

• Manage the canning line staff and their hours during the shift

• Ensure new employees are trained properly including safety, machine operation and sanitation procedures

• Ensure only the highest quality product goes into our finished goods inventory

• Ensure all packages are filled correctly, labeled, dated, boxed and stacked properly

• Keep the packaging area, warehouse and outside of the brewery clean and organized

• Complete packaging logs and sign beer in correctly for each shift

• Communicate with packaging staff frequently to maintain efficiency and quality.

• Ensure proper preventative and corrective maintenance issues are addressed in a timely fashion

• Help out as needed in all other parts of the brewery

• Taste the beer each day to ensure it is within spec

• Work on machinery to ensure it is functioning properly

• Work with management to ensure we have the materials we need to execute the schedule

• Attend packaging meetings

• Communicate needs and problems to Packaging Manager and Director of Operations

• Attend special events and brewery staff meetings

 

Education, Experience and Certification/License Requirements

• At least 2 year of experience in a brewery or other food/beverage manufacturing facility.

• Proven success in a leadership role managing 4 or more employees.

• Extensive experience and understanding of canning, aseptic packaging procedures, cleaning and sanitation, preventive maintenance, record keeping and data analysis.

 

Technology Requirements

• Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite.

• Ability to understand and execute against deadlines.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Proven ability to work with others.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Brewery Maintenance Mechanic

This position’s primary responsibility is to troubleshoot, upkeep, repair and maintain the building, brewing, packaging and warehouse systems and equipment keeping production lines and systems operating safely and efficiently. The Brewery Maintenance Mechanic position is full-time, available immediately and will report directly to the Director of Brewery Operations. Additionally, the Brewery Maintenance Mechanic will work closely with all departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  1. Troubleshoot, upkeep, repair and maintain the building, brewing, packaging and warehouse systems and equipment (corrective and preventive maintenance).
  2. Develop, modify, execute and document a preventive maintenance schedule.
  3. Work with management to propose, develop and design major maintenance and expansion projects.
  4. Manage the successful completion and installation of major projects and equipment.
  5. Work with and manage contractors for major projects, repairs or installations.
  6. Manage tool and spare parts inventories.
  7. Maintain equipment and train co-workers to sustain a safe working environment.
  8. Keep workspace clean and organized and assist others in doing the same.
  9. Occasionally drive company vehicle to pick-up supplies and parts.
  10. Additional duties as assigned.

 

Education, Experience and Certification/License Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a brewery or other food/beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in managing major projects involving multiple vendors, contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of general mechanical, electrical (high and low voltage), plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boilers, heating, refrigeration and general construction and handy-work.
  • Valid driver’s license

Great Divide Brewing Company is looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our growing team. This position at our downtown Denver location, reports to the Controller. Making beer is our passion, and our people are the ones who make it happen. The Human Resources Administrator will work with corporate management to develop and administer human resources policies, guidelines, programs and services and provide counsel and support to management in employee and community relations by performing the following duties:

-Develop and drive overall Human Resources strategy for the company including the crafting of company-wide performance management, benefit offerings, succession planning, compensation strategies and career development initiatives.
-Drive leadership development and builds leadership capability.
-Work closely with management and employees to constantly enhance morale, increase production and reduce attrition.
-Advise managers and supervisors on HR-related matters.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local legal requirements and regulations.
-Develop and implement company and employee policies, procedures and guidelines.
-Establishes and maintains the process for selection, training and development of employees throughout the company.
-Maintain the employee handbook, reviewing/updating based on legal requirements, best practices and company needs.
-Establish and maintain proper reporting and tracking mechanisms to insure compliance.
-Evaluate metrics and trends, to include evaluation of overtime; develop solutions and report to senior management.

Education/Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or Communications; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Specialized degree in Human Resource Administration and/or professional (PHR/SPHR) certification is preferred.
-Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
-Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, management, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
-Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
-To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; Microsoft Outlook and internet software.

This position’s primary responsibilities will be the daily management of the brewing department, overseeing the safe and efficient production of the highest quality craft beer. In addition, this individual will be heavily involved in planning, selecting equipment and commissioning our upcoming new brewing facility. The Brewing Manager position is full-time, available immediately and will report to the Director of Brewery Operations. Additionally, the Brewing Manager will work closely with all department heads and the quality assurance department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

-Leading a team in producing a high volume of quality beer in a safe and efficient manner.
-Writing and communicating a shift schedule for all brewing and cellar staff.
-Building and maintaining a strong team of motivated and educated employees.
-Writing, updating, delivering and enforcing standard operating procedures for the department.
-Ensuring clean and sanitary equipment and working environment.
-Managing raw materials inventories and materials contracts.
-Analyzing and reporting on all brewing operations and efficiencies.
-Completing, entering and maintaining daily production records.
-Scheduling and overseeing repairs and maintenance on all brewing and cellar equipment.
-Assisting the management team in planning, selecting equipment and commissioning our new brewing facility.

-Formal brewing education preferred.
