Human Resources Administrator
Great Divide Brewing Company is looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our growing team. This position at our downtown Denver location, reports to the Controller. Making beer is our passion, and our people are the ones who make it happen. The Human Resources Administrator will work with corporate management to develop and administer human resources policies, guidelines, programs and services and provide counsel and support to management in employee and community relations by performing the following duties:
-Develop and drive overall Human Resources strategy for the company including the crafting of company-wide performance management, benefit offerings, succession planning, compensation strategies and career development initiatives.
-Drive leadership development and builds leadership capability.
-Work closely with management and employees to constantly enhance morale, increase production and reduce attrition.
-Advise managers and supervisors on HR-related matters.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local legal requirements and regulations.
-Develop and implement company and employee policies, procedures and guidelines.
-Establishes and maintains the process for selection, training and development of employees throughout the company.
-Maintain the employee handbook, reviewing/updating based on legal requirements, best practices and company needs.
-Establish and maintain proper reporting and tracking mechanisms to insure compliance.
-Evaluate metrics and trends, to include evaluation of overtime; develop solutions and report to senior management.
-Oversee employee benefit programs including medical, dental, life, disability insurance, supplemental medical and 401k.
-Manage the onboarding program for welcoming and integrating new employees.
-Establish and maintain communications with employees at all levels to disseminate appropriate information regarding corporate strategy, programs, performance, etc.
-Oversee employee recordkeeping including new hires, performance appraisals, employee transfers, separations and exit interviews.
-Create and maintain current job descriptions for all employees.
-Serves as a liaison for management team and supervises employees on human capital issues that affect performance and business relationships.
-Perform special projects relating to the HR function as directed by management.
-Fosters a workplace environment consistent with the values and vision of the company.
-Additional duties as assigned.
-Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or Communications; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Specialized degree in Human Resource Administration and/or professional (PHR/SPHR) certification is preferred.
-Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
-Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, management, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
-Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
-To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; Microsoft Outlook and internet software.

This position will be based in Colorado Springs and will cover southern Colorado (including Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and the southern mountain region spanning west to Durango). Job duties include, but are not limited to:
-Obtaining new business through draft and bottle placements at new on and off-premise accounts
-Maintaining and increasing business in existing accounts
-Coordinating and working events, promotions, and tastings throughout the region
-Improving the visibility and position of Great Divide beers and POS in marketplace
-Managing distributor communication and working closely with distributor salespeople
-Communicating weekly recap reports to Colorado State Manager
Qualified applicants should possess a sturdy knowledge of the Colorado craft beer business, experience in a similar role at a brewery or distributor, strong written and verbal communication skills and a major appreciation for organization. This position’s primary responsibilities will be the daily management of the brewing department, overseeing the safe and efficient production of the highest quality craft beer. In addition, this individual will be heavily involved in planning, selecting equipment and commissioning our upcoming new brewing facility. The Brewing Manager position is full-time, available immediately and will report to the Director of Brewery Operations. Additionally, the Brewing Manager will work closely with all department heads and the quality assurance department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
-Leading a team in producing a high volume of quality beer in a safe and efficient manner.
-Writing and communicating a shift schedule for all brewing and cellar staff.
-Building and maintaining a strong team of motivated and educated employees.
-Writing, updating, delivering and enforcing standard operating procedures for the department.
-Ensuring clean and sanitary equipment and working environment.
-Managing raw materials inventories and materials contracts.
-Analyzing and reporting on all brewing operations and efficiencies.
-Completing, entering and maintaining daily production records.
-Scheduling and overseeing repairs and maintenance on all brewing and cellar equipment.
-Assisting the management team in planning, selecting equipment and commissioning our new brewing facility.
-Working with the department heads and production team to create and improve processes that ensure safety, quality and efficiency.
-Proactively managing yeast health and beer fermentations.
-Managing barrel aged and sour beer program.
-Overseeing the pilot beer program including creating new and unique processes and beer recipes.
-Overseeing the cask beer program.
-Leading departmental meetings.
Education, Experience and Certification/License Requirements
-At least 10 year of experience as a professional brewer.
-Proven success in a leadership role managing 10 or more employees in a brewery setting.
-Extensive experience and understanding of preventive maintenance, team motivation and management, ordering and inventory management, record keeping and data analysis.
-Extensive experience and understanding of the brewing process, sanitation, yeast health and fermentation and beer transfer and clarification.
-Experience with brewery quality assurance and quality control plans.
-Experience in the theories and production of barrel aged and sour beer styles.
-Formal brewing education preferred.
-Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite.
-Positive attitude with an ongoing sense of urgency.
-Excellent time management skills.
-Proven ability to work with others.
-Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
-A flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends.
-Strong ability to teach/mentor and motivate all types of individuals.
