Weekend Pairing

September 23, 2011

Welcome to our series highlighting the bountiful world of beer&cheese pairings. Join us each week as we explore a new turophilic delight paired with our seasonal and year-round brews.

Grafton 4-year Cheddar and Espresso Oak Aged Yeti

Espresso Oak Aged Yeti, while not currently in season, can still occasionally be found on shelves during its off-season. A generous infusion of espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official: You can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Grafton 4-year Cheddar is aged for approximately 48 months and is handcrafted with Jersey cow milk from small Vermont family farms. This outstanding cheddar has a pronounced, mature, earthy flavor with a full, smooth finish, and has a drier, crumbly texture that makes aged cheese lovers sing.

This is a surprising match made in heaven.
