Von Trapp Farmstead Oma paired with Claymore Scotch Ale

This washed-rind cheese is a luxurious package of flavors including earthy, buttery, and faintly barnyardy. Oma’s silky texture is soft and elastic yet manages to sway away from the runny side. The Von Trapp brothers make this cheese in Vermont and named it ‘oma’ (German word for grandmother) after their grandmother, Erica. This cheese delivers silky complexity with flavors that don’t disappoint. Pairs perfectly with our Claymore Scotch Ale and is an impressive pairing with guests who are European cheese lovers yet newer to American artisan varieties.
