“Now that the Fourth of July celebrations are behind us, there is still a lot of celebrating to do. We have put together our twelve favorite events for celebrating summertime!
1. Great Divide Block Party
When: Saturday, July 8, 2-6pm
Where: The Square on 21st {21st Street between Larimer and Lawrence}
What: Great Divide Brewing is going back to its roots with a good old fashioned summer block party at The Square on 21st, a newly created urban green space on 21st Street between Larimer and Lawrence Street. This party will be a relaxed affair with music, lawn games, and plenty of delicious beer in a unique outdoor venue. Denver is one busy city come summertime, so Great Divide is taking out the stress of committing to a day-long event by offering multiple participation options. 2. bRUNch Running at Blackbird Public House
When: Sunday, July 9, 9:15am-12:15pm
Where: Blackbird Public House {305 South Downing Street, Denver; 303.733.3923}
What: With all the partying we are doing this month maybe a nice run with a mimosa is in order. bRUNch Running is gathering at Blackbird Public House for a pre-brunch fun run. Open to walkers and runners of all ages and abilities, you can choose between a 5k and a 10k route in Washington Park. Tickets are $40 and include the run, a brunch entrée, two beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), commemorative glassware, tax, and gratuity. To register visit bRUNch Running.
3. East Meets West with Ratio and Cho77
When: Monday, July 10, 5:30-9:30pm
Where: Cho77 {42 South Broadway, Denver; 720.638.8179}
What: East meets west in the ultimate beer pairing experience. Cho77 and Ratio Beerworks have teamed up for a special Dim Sum Beer Dinner. Chef Ryan Gorby and Head Brewer at Ratio, Jason zumBrunnen, will create a five-course Dim Sum and beer dinner. There are two seatings at 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm and tickets are $49 per person. 4. Don Julio Tequila Dinner
When: Wednesday, July 12, 7-9pm
Where: The Matador {3496 West 32nd Avenue, Denver; 303.561.2855}
What: The Matador is hosting Don Julio Tequila for a special four-course tequila pairing dinner. A tequila expert will be on hand to guide guests through the flavor profiles of the different tequilas and how they pair with the ingredients in each dish. Tickets are $60 per person and may be purchased over the phone or in person.
5. The Big Eat
When: Thursday, July 13, 6-9pm
Where: Denver Center for the Performing Arts
What: Now in its sixth year, The Big Eat is Denver’s signature food party, celebrating the city’s independent restaurants and the chefs and “hospitalitarians” behind them. Enjoy bites and sips from 70 of our top restaurants and bars hosted by EatDenver. This year, The Big Eat marks the opening of Slow Food Nations weekend and a banner year for Denver’s dining scene. 6. Slow Food Nations
When: July 14 – July 16
Where: Multiple locations
What: For the first time ever, Slow Food Nations is coming to Denver. Inspired by Slow Food International’s biennial Terra Madre gathering in Turin, Italy, this three-day long festival will feature everything from street food festivals to ticketed food centric conferences. To kick off the festivities, Slow Food Nations will take over Larimer Square on July 15 from 10am- 6pm for Taste Marketplace. 7. Beer Dinner with Table 6 and Our Mutual Friend
When: Thursday, July 13, 6-10pm
Where: Table 6 {609 Corona Street, Denver; 303.831.8800}
What: Known for their interesting, eclectic wine selections, the folks at Table 6 also know a thing or two about great craft beer. They are celebrating their close relationship with Our Mutual Friend Brewery with a fun, funky four-course beer pairing dinner created by Chef Mike Winston. The chef and brewer will be on hand to walk you through the menu and the pairings. The dinner is $65 per person and reservations can be made by calling the restaurant.
8. Joyride Brewing Company’s Third Anniversary Extravaganza
When: Saturday, July 15, 11am-11pm
Where: Joyride Brewing Company {2501 Sheridan Boulevard, Edgewater; 720.432.7560}
What: Get ready for the biggest block party Edgewater has ever seen! Joyride Brewing Company is shutting down 25th Avenue to celebrate their third anniversary. There will be seven bands, three food trucks, beer tents, a rare beer tent, a kids zone, and more. In honor of the party, they have created three collaboration beers with Elk Mountain Brewing, Little Machine Beer, and Hogshead Brewery. Head over to Edgewater and join the fun!
9. BrüFrou
When: Sunday, July 16, 12-5pm
Where: Tivoli Quad {900 Auraria Parkway}
What: BrüFrou is back for its fourth year and is bigger than ever with 125 chefs and brewers, cooking up the best pairings. This year, the summer festival will be held outdoors in the heart of downtown at the historic Tivoli Brewery. Guests can select from various options for tasting some or all of the pairings. Prices range from $40 for your choice of eight pairings from the 40 available in the general admission area to $125 for access to all 60 pairings in the shaded VIP tent. 10. Dining Al Fresco
When: Saturday, July 22, 5-10pm
Where: Restaurants of Larimer Square
What: Larimer Square’s Dining Al Fresco evenings have become a beloved Denver summer experience. All of the restaurants of Larimer Square spill out onto the street, creating an outdoor dining experience under a canopy of lights. Make your reservation at any of the participating restaurants, and if you can’t get into your restaurant of choice, there will be two more events on August 19 and September 9.

11. Second Annual Tiki Party
When: Saturday, July 22, starting at 5pm

What: Grab your favorite grass skirt and flowered lei and head over to Green Russell for their second annual Tiki Party. Sip Mai Tais and tropical drinks from fresh cut coconut and pineapple cups and nibble on island-inspired bites. Doors open at 5pm with live music from the Royal Aces starting at 8pm.
12. Cheese Block Party
When: Saturday, July 26, 1-4pm
Where: Cobble Square Development {44th and Zuni Street}
What: Cheese + Provisions will host Denver’s first-ever “Cheese Block Party” in partnership with Oldways Cheese Coalition, a non-profit dedicated to preserving traditional, raw milk cheesemaking practices. A dozen local and national cheesemakers, charcuterie makers, and small-batch food producers will offer tastes of their products. To make the party complete, there will be live music and beer and wine flowing.
13. Blackbelly Lamb Asado Dinner at Oxford Gardens
When: Wednesday, July 26
Where: Oxford Gardens {10145 Oxford Road, Longmont}
What: Enjoy fantastic food, beverage, and hospitality by Blackbelly, among breathtaking surroundings at Oxford Gardens, under the Colorado summer skies. The evening will feature a whole Boulder Lamb, cooked Asado-style, over an open flame with fresh veggies and herbs from Oxford Gardens and neighboring farms. The menu also includes passed hors d’oeuvres, family-style salads, sides, and dessert. This event is BYOB, so bring whatever tickles your fancy.
