The Full Pint: GREAT DIVIDE THE SMOOTHNESS RELEASE THIS WEEK FOR GABF

“(DENVER, CO) – Just in time for the Great American Beer Festival, Great Divide Brewing will be releasing the latest edition of their Jameson Caskmates Drinking Buddies collaboration, The Smoothness. This rich, silky dark lager was aged in Jameson Caskmates barrels imported directly from Ireland, and was inspired by Great Divide’s time at Jameson’s Midleton distillery.

Great Divide’s partnership with Jameson began in 2015 when the brewery was selected as one of five American craft breweries to partner with the brand for the Jameson Caskmates Drinking Buddies program. Since then, the partnership has grown to include several limited edition beers as well as the Jameson Caskmates Great Divide Brewing Company Edition whiskey. Through the partnership, Jameson ships barrels to Great Divide which are then used to create a unique craft beer with hints of Jameson Whiskey. This year, for the first time ever, Great Divide will be able to package and distribute The Smoothness into select markets.

“We think The Smoothness will resonate with both whiskey drinkers and craft beer drinkers,” said Great Divide Off-premise Key Accounts Manager Ben Rodemeyer. “The beer benefits from some of the flavors coming from the whiskey barrels, and I think all parties will appreciate the complexity.”

At 8.7 percent ABV (alcohol by volume), The Smoothness opens with a velvety mouthfeel and rounds out with roasted malt flavors and notes of vanilla and oak. One sip and the name explains itself.

This is a limited edition package available in select Great Divide markets, including Colorado. The Smoothness will also be on tap on Thursday, October 5th at both Denver Great Divide Tap Rooms starting at 12:00 p.m., at Freshcraft on Friday, October 6th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m for a special GABF event, and at Larimer Beer Hall on Saturday, October 7th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight for a Great Divide tap takeover to round out GABF.”
