The Experimental IPA Project is an opportunity for Great Divide to flex its brewing ingenuity and showcase experimental IPA styles outside of our everyday offerings.
Experimental IPA #5
Originally brewed as Companion Ale to support Colorado Rapid Avalanche Deployment (@cradavalancherescue)—a non-profit that trains teams of avalanche search & rescue dogs in Colorado—the response to this beer was so positive we decided to give it a little more time to shine in our Hoppy Variety Pack. This juicy, hazy tangerine-enhanced IPA is soft on the bitterness and heavy on the fruit flavor.
ABV: 6.5% | DATE ON 12-PACK: May 3-TBD | SIZES: 12oz cans available exclusively in our Hoppy Variety 12-pack
Experimental IPA #4
The fourth release in our rotating Experimental Hop Project featured exclusively in our HOPPY VARIETY 12-PACK is a throw-back to one of the earliest India Pale Ale sub-styles—the Black IPA. Much darker in color than a traditional IPA thanks to its unusual grain bill. Chocolate notes lead the charge followed by mild roasted barley and a hop profile that favors pine and dank characteristics with a touch of citrus fruit. Hopped up with Vic Secret, Simcoe, Amarillo and Huell Melon, this beer features an exceedingly clean bitterness.
ABV: 6.9% | DATE ON 12-PACK: Feb 6-Feb 28 | SIZES: 12oz cans available exclusively in our Hoppy Variety 12-pack
Experimental IPA #3
The third release in our rotating Experimental Hop Project featured exclusively in our HOPPY VARIETY 12-PACK is a classic West Coast double IPA brewed with cutting edge new hops and thiolized yeast. Using Cryo Pop trial 602 from Yakima Chief, we were able to target a specific flavor profile via hop blend rather than using individual hops. This beer bursts with classic West Coast IPA flavors of pine and citrus with the perfect amount of hop bitterness.
ABV: 9.9% | DATE ON BOTTOM OF CAN: Oct 26-Nov 11 | SIZES: 12oz cans available exclusively in our Hoppy Variety 12-pack
