Taproom Manager

Department: Sales and Marketing
Reports to: VP of Sales and Marketing
Salary Range: 55,000-65,000 annually

 

Position Summary: 

The Taproom Manager is accountable for the overall daily operations of the Taproom, effective team management and responsible for creating a culture that provides exceptional guest experiences in both the Ballpark and Rino Taprooms. This role will be to work closely with the Taproom team to successfully accomplish and implement goals and initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

Team Development/Management

  • Create and manage the scheduling of Taproom co-workers
  • Work nights, weekends, and special events and during busy hours in the Taproom
  • With assistance from HR, lead Taproom interviewing and hiring process / select, orient, train, schedule, and coach taproom co-workers; communicate job expectations and perform co-worker performance reviews
  • Approve all timecards in payroll system
  • Educate and train all co-workers on brewing knowledge, beer styles, beer presentation and quality; hospitality and company history; merchandise display, pricing, and availability; brewery tour program and special events
  • Help create an inclusive environment for all guests, co-workers and the community
  • Support sales team event logistics
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes, enhance business operations, profitability, guest experience, and/or co-worker engagement

Guest Experience

  • Serve and sell alcohol responsibly; consistently offer friendly, informed, and personal customer service
  • Evaluate, monitor, and improve service in the Taproom, tours, and overall brewery experience
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Provide event coordination and logistics: review opportunities and respond to inquiries; assist with site management of staffing, food vendors etc. working with Private Events Coordinator as needed
  • Monitor and manage capacity limits
  • Handle delicate or difficult guest situations including, complaints, negative reviews, and ensures resolution

Daily Operations

  • Ensure beer quality: manage tap room draft system, refrigeration, beer inventory and cleanliness of glassware and bar; educate staff on pouring, presentation and quality of beer
  • Schedule and maintaining line cleaning to meet standards
  • Order and manage taproom supplies
  • Manage inventory in collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator
  • Manage/coordinate all VIP requests
  • Coordinate janitorial and other necessary outside services
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3-5 years minimum of bar/restaurant or retail management experience
  • TIPS certified and Cicerone Server Certification preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with restaurant POS systems
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Illustrator
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
 Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work long hours on feet
  • Ability to move and lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to remain focused and level-headed in demanding situations
